Set against the foothills of the Adirondacks, there are countless outdoor opportunities in and near Canton. Here are a few ideas!
Lampson Falls - 15 minutes outside of Canton, a 1-mile hike to a beautiful waterfall with nice spots to enjoy a picnic
Stone Valley Trail - Running along both sides of the Raquette River, Stone Valley offers miles of moderate trail with views of several waterfalls and emphasis on local history.
Golfing at the Best Western or Partridge Run- bring your clubs if you’re a golfer- the hotel which has our group rate has a golf course attached!
Heritage Park - Located downtown, with convenient trails with many vantage points of the Grasse River
Museums
Fredrick Remington Museum - located 20 mins from Canton in Ogdensburg NY - a top-rate art museum
St. Lawrence University Brush Art Gallery - Located at Molly’s alma mater on Ramoda Drive, Canton.
TAUNY (Traditional Arts in Upstate New York) -located on Main Street in Canton -their first floor contains local art and crafts for sale, and the upstairs is a free museum about the North Country

St. Lawrence University Brewer Bookstore is a cute place to grab a coffee and browse books
Birchbark Bookstore- only open 1-6pm on Saturdays and Sundays- huge selection of used books 15 minutes outside of Canton
